Great Lakes Crossing Outlets is located in Michigan.  This shopping outlet offers residents access to many shops and restaurants, in addition to allowing morning walkers to use the property.   The owner Taubman Auburn Hills completed an extensive due diligence for the appearance and type of materials for refurbishing the floor.  TB Penick & Sons process and mock ups were selected amongst four companies that created samples.  
 
This project presented numerous challenges as the work needed to be completed while the mall was still functioning. To accomplish this, the project had to be split up into sections. Likewise, the crew had to work at night in order to reduce the impact on the shoppers, walkers and tenants.
 
The intricate multicolored shapes required shop drawings and a numbering system to insure the proper stain matched the design intent.   The overall design for this project remained true to the original design with four reactive stain colors closely resembling the existing colors.
